The past two days have been very busy. Friday, we had more training on refugees and delved further into our topics. The team also conducted a few exercises to identify our individual research strengths and how we plan to move forward with our projects. In my role, I will focus mainly on data, of course. I will be collecting some data on refugees, but my main tasks will involve analyzing data through statistical methods and machine learning. There will also be a lot of text to analyze, so I will be using natural language processing and k-means clustering for most of my analysis. I will also visualize my own project and other projects that the team is conducting as well. Its all very exciting right now, and I will have more details tomorrow--when I start my first day at IRC!
I'm going to post a series of photos that I have taken for the past four days. There have been a lot!! This morning, I found a terraced garden during my walk through the neighborhoods. It was just by chance I found it, and it was a great opportunity to take some photos of the flowers and plant life found in Jordan. The garden is part of the Khalid Shoman Foundation. It was a very inspiration visit. The garden photos are the second half of the slide show. Enjoy!!
